One cover for the youth, one cover for the collector.
I was tasked with creating two covers for the classic novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The catch? Each one had to appeal to a different audience: One for the upscale book collector and literature officianado, and one for younger readers first venturing into the world of classics. On the young reader’s edition, a stylized wraparound illustration depicts Oliver’s kindness in the face of an unjust, grimy world. On the upscale version, classic Victorian embellishments decorate the deep green leather cover. Aditionally, each book was typeset according to its target audience.
